The Gripoix family had been highly skilled in creating bijouterie, or costume jewelry, since the late 19th century. However, their work with Chanel helped elevate the status of reproductions to smart and chic. While these 1990s era silk Chanel pumps were designed 20 years after her death, they pay homage to Coco?s early fondness for show-stopping accessories.
